Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui has called on utility companies to practise cost-effective culture in delivering service to users.
He said the needs and demands of users were too high and as users, they wanted services that correspond to the money being spent.
"For a giant like Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) which has about 7.4 million customers nationwide, it will always be monitored by customers, non-governmental organisations and relevant parties like shareholders and so on.
"As a company listed on Bursa Malaysia, it needs to strike a balance between making profits for shareholders and satisfying the needs of customers as the utility users," he said after the launch of TNB's Client Charter here Wednesday.
The client charter will take effect in January next year and monitored by the Energy Commission. It will ensure TNB customers receive quality service.- BERNAMA
